Almost a year ago, when I started this blog, I wrote a post asking myself what exactly luck is. Well, after a long and difficult year, I have started making my own luck. My lovely husband is, thankfully, on the same page as me about many things, and as I sit here and watch the fireworks over my lovely new home town, I feel like they’re a celebration of my new life and new luck. We have left the city behind and are fully ensconced in our autumnal paradise. This morning SWE drove me to the train station and instead of a fraught gallop through the underground system, having intimate body contact with less than salubrious strangers, I had a lovely cup of coffee while watching the fields zing past.
I took the slow train but, while longer, it was a much calmer start to the day. Being able to see nature, in all her glory, made a massive difference to my mood and I feel like my luck is turning as the leaves turn. Long may the golden glow last!
